(Oslo, 7 June 2010) Telenor has entered into an agreement with EDB to purchase
IT operating services with an estimated value of NOK 2.1 billion for the period
1 May 2010 to 31 December 2015. The services supplied through this contract
relate to Telenor's activities in Norway.
"The agreement with Telenor secures transparency for EDB going forward, and
strengthens our competitiveness as one of the leading Nordic suppliers of IT
operating services", comments John-Arne Haugerud, acting CEO of EDB.
"This contract represents a continuation and reinforcement of Telenor's
strategic collaboration with EDB for IT operations. The agreement includes
modernising Telenor's data centre platform and data network, as well as its
desktop solutions, over the course of the next 3-5 years. This will result in
lower costs, higher quality and greater flexibility", comments Ragnar Kårhus,
CEO of Telenor Norge AS.
The contract provides for EDB to work with Telenor to consolidate and virtualise
a new technology platform that will deliver a more flexible cost structure and
more efficient solutions for users.
The agreement with Telenor is effective from 1 May 2010, and replaces an earlier
agreement.
